As a practical application of Polyvagal Theory, the Safe & Sound Protocol acts as a non-invasive music therapy for improving the function of your vagus nerve, helping to re-tune the nervous system to better support connection, collaboration and resilience. The SSP involves listening to specially filtered music through headphones alongside a provider, in-person or remotely. Suitable for children and adults, the SSP has demonstrated benefits for individuals with trauma, anxiety, chronic pain, sensory processing differences and more. For many people, the SSP is a great complement to 1:1 packages as it helps the nervous system become more open to change.
About Polyvagal Theory
Polyvagal Theory focuses on what is happening in the body and the nervous system, and explains how our sense of safety, danger or life-threat can impact our bodies and our behavior. Understanding Polyvagal Theory gives us a scientific framework that can be applied through physiological, or “bottom-up” therapies, to help change and improve how we feel, think and connect with others.

Free Introductory Call to assess whether Safe & Sound is right for you at this time
1 Round of Safe & Sound Core tailored to your nervous system with virtual 1:1 monitoring time during sessions with support outside of listening sessions to answer questions and provide regulation practices and guidance.
The number of listening sessions is determined by your nervous system. With the Safe & Sound Protocol, less is more. Listening sessions can be a few minutes up to 30 minutes for a total of 5 hours of listening. The time needed to complete the SSP can take anywhere from 2-3 weeks up to several months with paced consistent listening. You will not be charged extra for needing to go slower or have more listening sessions.
